If there's one thing that fashion's
pretty famous for, it's the long list of supposed dos and don'ts. Never wear
with this. Ditch the horizontal stripes. Make sure everything matches
perfectly. It can be stressful, to say the least, sucking the fun out of expressions.
Fashion rules are meant to be
followed and taken seriously, but there are always exemptions because, rules
are made for people and not people for rule.
A lot of these rules have been
broken by every Nigerian Fashion Designer
Don’t mix different prints and patterns.
Wearing patterns within the same color palette, but of different sizes is the
perfect way to show people you’re fashionable. It can also look extremely fresh, and elevate your look from
ordinary to street-style ready in no time
Don’t wear black and blue together. Most
people are too scared to wear this color-combo, guaranteeing you’ll stand out
from the crowd if you try it, but not fashion designers in Nigeria
Don’t wear heels if you’re tall. This mandate isn't only silly, but a little sexist, too. Stemming from a whole
bunch of antiquated notions including abundant height isn't feminine, and a
woman shouldn't draw extra attention to herself, this rule is one no woman
should ever follow if they don’t want to. We know plenty of women who are
almost six feet tall and still rock three-inch heels with grace (and we’re
jealous.) and heels are graciously transformative and completely change the way you carry yourself.
Don’t match your shoes and your handbag.
Matching both actually makes you look put together with minimal effort.
Dress for the job you want, not the job you have.
If your job doesn't require you to wear a suit every day, don’t. Feel free to
show your personality!
Wear what makes you feel awesome!
