Dress to Impress Her

Do you ever go out and feel a bit… underdressed? It’s not that you think you should have worn a suit and tie. It’s just that you think there’s something missing. You want to dress better, you want to impress, whether you’re running errands, making the town or heading out for a first date. The good news is that dressing to impress is probably a lot simpler than you’re making it out to be.
This is how...

Get Groomed...!

It doesn't matter what the occasion is, grooming is important. You should be seeing your barber at least fortnightly. Showers are a must every day. Also keep your facial hair groomed, whether that’s a
close shave or just trimming the mountain man beard before you head out for the night.
Your grooming and personal hygiene are essential parts of your overall image.

A Word on Scent...!

We consider your scent as much a part of your outfit as your pants or shirt. You should pick a scent that’s distinctive, look for good cologne that you think matches your personality and the image that you want to impart on people. Don’t use too much, though.

Suit Up...!
Suit up! Invest in a good, expensive suit, and keep it clean and essentially ready-to-go at all times. Standard black is usually your best bet, for day as well as the evenings.

Be Fashionable Stay Fashionable Look Fashionable.

Being fashionable in any situation takes more than just putting on the right clothes, making sure your hair is in order and making your face look fresh. Every part of your outfit, including your nails and shoes, are important details. When your nails and shoes are tardy, it shows you as having lazy tendencies and are not putting your appearance in the forefront.

Looking fashionable has the potential to advance your career. An interviewer will know, within 10- seconds, if you could be the right person for the job. This opinion comes from your overall look
first.

Improper attire and imperfect grooming leads to rejections while searching for a new position. Your credentials are important, but when you look the part, you are more likely to get the part.

You can still stay fashionable even when you need versatility in your wardrobe but your wallet is discouraging. Use a couple wardrobe tricks to minimize your spending. Your wardrobe should fit your lifestyle and have inclusions for every aspect of your life from shirts, pants, suits, to casual native wears and native senator wears

Staying Attractive With Your Dressing (GUYS)

Looking attractive begins with developing an everyday routine to maintain the health of your skin, hair, smile, and overall body, and radiate confidence through your posture and body language.

Wear clean clothes that fit you well.
As they say, the clothes make the man! You don't have to wear expensive items to be attractive, but your clothing can communicate a lot about you.

Always dress well. Yes, every single morning! Even when dressing casually for an ordinary day, don't just throw on whatever you have lying around. Select clothes that match and that suit what you'll be doing.

#BLACKATTITUDE

Develop friendship with a good fashion designerthis is important when you want to buy clothes or sew new clothes. You probably can't tell what looks good on you, what celebrities have modeled to become the in-thing, may not be a good fit for you. But, because the primary focus of a good fashion designer is clothes and how best it can be used, he will guide you to make a perfect choice.

Wear clothes that fit well. It’s not the amount of clothes that gives the fitting every guy aspires, less expensive clothes that fit look much better than expensive clothes that don't!
Don't try to hide your body. Whether you're embarrassed about being too large or too skinny, trying to cover it up with baggy clothing only makes you look worse.

Get rid of old clothes. You might love that old T-shirt from college, but it probably doesn't fit well anymore. Clothes and your body change size and shape over time. Even if they still fit, clothes that are more than two or three years old are probably starting to look tired or out of fashion.

Figure out which colors look good on you. The right color will make your skin look awesome, while the wrong one can make it look washed out and sallow.

Stock your wardrobe with timeless basics. These pieces shouldn't fall out of style too quickly, and they should be made of quality materials that will last a few years. Pick up items such as black native casual, black native senator wears, shirts these will remain timeless in Nigeria but we have a few fashion designers in Nigeria who can make native casual or native senator wears with perfect fit and finishing. Check the likes of Mudi Africa, Dr. Legendclothing Yomi Casuals and a few others. You'll always be able to put together a presentable outfit from these places.

Do laundry regularly. Some items of clothing can stand to go through several wears before they're dirty such as suits, jackets or pants, but shirts, underwear, and socks can only stand one wear before they need to be washed. Set up a regular schedule for doing laundry so that you don't spend the morning scrambling for something clean.

Getting on Her Radar With Dressing

Having a crush can be intriguing but frustrating when you feel like they don’t even know you exist! While there’s no secret formula to getting your crush’s attention, there are certain things that you can do to make sure you get on her radar. First and foremost you should put your best possible self out there. Look your best, be active, positive and project confidence.

To Get on Her Radar

Choose a shirt. Make sure to choose a shirt that flatters your body shape.

Choose a pair of pants. Try something that doesn't make you look too big or small. Never try pants that are too, too tight.

Choose a pair of shoes. Shoes are a must with style. Have shoes that are comfortable and look great too. Make sure that your shoes are appropriate to your activity.

Dress to Impress
It is a misconception that men can't be stylish. Today there are many different styles for men to wear.  Business casual, formal suit, Ankara prints,native- senator wear, shirts, smart native casual etc. Wearing clothing that is your style, flattering, and fits you well, will give you confidence. Impressing women with the way you dress is about finding your style and putting it together well!

Choose the colors you wear carefully. If you wear the correct colors for your skin tone, you will accentuate your good looks, whereas, wearing the wrong colors will be unflattering. As a rule, bright red, pale pink, teal, and eggplant, look good on all skin types.

Be the best dressed guy in the room. Always consider the context of where you are going when you are dressing, but err on the side of overdressing rather than under dressing.

When you care about how you look it shows, so be proud! Women will appreciate your care and will respect you more for it.

How to Look Smart, rather smarter

Looking smart is important in today’s competitive environment. Look smart by choosing clean, well-fitting clothes that match the occasion. You remember that we only get one chance for a first impression. You may be born smarter than anyone but when you come out sloppy and ditzy, you give people the impression of an illiterate dullard. Looking smart requires focusing on quality over quantity and choosing a few good quality necessary wears.

Let’s go through what you need to look smart, rather smarter.
·        Pants and jackets: Shop for pants that are tailored and fit you well in length, in the waist and in overall fit. They can be stylish and trendy. So long as they fit well you appear that you took time in putting the outfit together. Choose jackets that fit appropriately. No one looks smart in hugely over-sized jackets that drag everywhere.
·        Choose a Collar: Wearing a stiff neat collar makes you look smart and fresh the entire day.
·        Shoes: Wear shoes that are undamaged (free of deep scuffs and wear), that fit well and that can be polished (unless suede).
·        Dress according to your body type: Havoc is wearing size 8, when you are size 2. You will only be torturing the eye. Buy shirts that are cut to fit your body type. Look for lengths that are appropriate, not too short and not too long if they fit. Coordinate your look and make sure your clothes are ironed.
·        Take care of your skin: Get a skin care regime and stick to it daily. Choose things that compliment your face structure.
·        Keep your hair neat: Pay close attention to personal hygiene!
·        Accessorize smartly: Wear quality eye-wear. Seeing is a good thing. Get glasses if you need them.

Starting Out As A Fashion Designer In Nigeria

The “I am not a tailor, I’m a fashion designer” is one conversation I’ve heard one-too-many-times. I think because of the connotations of the Nigerian people about tailors, even tailors do not want to be called tailors again. Everyone now go by the name “Fashion Designer”.

I don’t see anything wrong with everyone changing their profession to fashion designers in Nigeria, even though being a tailor should also be honorable.

I think it will be best we get to know what the role of fashion designer is and how one can successfully become a fashion designer in Nigeria.

Fashion design is a form of art. To work as a designer, you should have an artistic and creative personality. You also have to be good at drawing and able to express your ideas in sketches.

You don't necessarily have to be a great artist, but you must have some special skills for combining colors, tones and shades. You also have to be able to work with fabric and use textiles in a creative and original manner.

A fashion designer is the creative mind behind any item of clothing, be it a high fashion runway garment or your regular pair of jeans or tee shirt.  They conduct research, develop a concept and vision for the type of person they would like to dress, create a visual image of their concept through sketches and oversee the various design and production processes that bring their sketches or designs to life in the form of a three dimensional garment to fit their intended market.

The tailors on the other hand, directly take measurement of the client and stitch the clothes according to the design given by the client
.
Now, it doesn’t mean that a tailor cannot be a fashion designer. In fact, it makes the whole process easier, if a tailor also has the skill of fashion designing.

To become a good fashion designer in Nigeria, you need to leverage on these rules;

Develop your skills. Successful fashion designers have a wide array of skills, including drawing, an eye for color and texture, an ability to visualize concepts in three dimensions, and the mechanical skills involved in sewing and cutting all types of fabrics.
Decide which designing field is your principal interest. For example;
·         Women's wear
·         Men's wear
·         Sportswear/fitness/leisure wear
·         Outdoor, adventure, outerwear
·         Bridal wear
·         Accessories
·         Casual

Ask your customers what they need.  Keep it simple and realistic. Extravagant sketches are nice on paper, but great native wears, casuals, shirts, pants or suit are better simple and classy. Simple designs remain the ultimate sophistication.

Assess your skills and personality honestly before pursuing a career in fashion design. You may love clothes but clothing is only part of the story when undertaking fashion design. You'll also need excellent communication skills, a willingness to work very hard, an ability to cope with stress, openness to having many different clients and/or bosses, an acceptance that there will be loneliness or isolation on occasion and an ability to be a self-disciplined self-starter.

Get educated about the business side of fashion.  Being a successful fashion designer not only requires talent and creativity, it also requires a sound knowledge of the business and marketing aspects of the fashion world.

Look for fashion design jobs. Or start your own fashion label but be prepared to be financially astute.

Heading for a Wedding? See This....

Are you often late to wedding ceremonies because you just can’t seem to figure out what to wear? Your thought usually is to pick something right out of your closet that fits the occasion while at the same time feels comfortable, confident and you look well styled. Believe it or not this is something that can be easily achieved with just a little planning.

Plan your wardrobe the night before the event. How? Start by laying out the suits, pants shirts, ties, shoes, lapel pins that you think might work for the occasion. Style the outfits and make your choice of the best fit for the occasion. Iron those items that needed to be ironed and hang them nicely. Next morning just jump into your clothing and get your day started quickly.

It took me several years to start from the basics, if you try this and it works for you, then think of making it a habit and do it for all your clothes. This completely creates a great system for planning out a complete working wardrobe that not only fits your individual style, but also have you get dressed for any occasion at the drop of a dime.

Imagine having a plan for your wardrobe instead of haphazardly throwing your pieces of clothing together each morning. Now imagine how much time you would save.

Exactly What Every Nigerian Tailor Does

Guess, you’ve probably made few trips to tailors in your life to take in (or let out) a dress or to shorten a pair of pants, shirts, suits, or native wears given to you as a gift. But there is much more our Skilled Nigerian tailors can do.

Choosing a tailor can be tricky – Nigerian tailors are loose and experience does not always equate to skill.  Oftentimes I meet someone who can do what I ask, but fails to point out what I asked for will ruin the look of the garment.  Other times I have been promised the whole world only to receive back a garment unfit to wear.  When you find a tailor that you like, one who understands your needs, please treasure that relationship because a skilled Nigerian Tailor can save you on a very bad day.

Most people confuse a Fashion Designer with a Tailor, the reason may be because both use the same tools and the end product is clothing. However there is huge difference in how they work. The tailors directly take client’s measurement and stitch the clothes according to the design given by the client. The Fashion Designer on the other hand is the creator of a new design. The Fashion Designer takes inspiration from different themes and draws new ideas.  We know the business of fashion and tailoring become more easy and intriguing if we have a tailor who is also a fashion designer.

What Nigerian tailor does that Nigerian Fashion designers may not do.

  1.         A Skilled Nigerian tailor makes, repairs, or alters clothing.
  2.                 He/she makes customized dress for a client who walks in his shop        professionally.
  3.              A Nigerian tailor usually makes dresses which clients might select from in magazines, newspapers, fashion shows etc.
  4.        .    A skilled Nigerian tailor is satisfied only when the client is happy; if the client isn’t satisfied with the clothes, the tailor either works to meet expectations or make the client whole by refunding his money.
  5.             A good Nigerian tailor offers guidance, on styles and can work on any body shape.
  6.             A skilled Nigerian tailor who understands his position and treasures his/her relationship with you will always be accessible. You want a professional that is accessible; when you find out a week before your wedding you’re a little too large for your once well-fitting suit, you want someone who can help you in a pinch, don’t you?
A good tailor is hard to find, but once you do they will help take any of your existing formal looks to the next level.
